The dances have included dancer's culture and society. So, there are so many form of dances from each countries. Before the reading the book, i did not think about korean dances what we have or what we do. But Korea has also so many tradition dances of purpose, for example, when koreans are farming, they are dancing with song of farm work.
The topic of Ghost dance is so interested for me. We cannot see or feel that there is the ghost or not. But many culture has Ghost dance for the spirits. But dancer who perform the ghost dance, they could be 'possessed' by the spirits while they are performing ghost dance. It was so amazing because we have also kind of ghost dance. I thought that there is only ghost dance in korea. However, many korean people have thought it is a supersitition. when I was reading part of ghost dance, I changed my opinion that It is not supersitiion, just cultural thing in our life. we could take care of the spirit even they already gone.
Before reading this book, I did not have any idea about dance even korean culture has so many form and purpose of dances. I will study korean dances where they from, why they disappear or exist since now. It is good for me to know many history of dances and could compare with my cultural dances.
