Chapter 4.

 Social dance has a important function to socialize and to make a union community. They dance many forms of dance with many situations such as funeral and wedding so that they could feel same feeling when they dance together and they can share with their happiness and sadness. It makes strengthen the community strongly. 

 When young people social dance, they can learn how to treat opposite gender while they are dancing. They should practice dance together, after that they will know how to dance and how to get closer each other. In my case, there is no dance class in Korea, so when we were in middle school or high school, I have felt it is hard and weird to get closer to the girl. I did not have chance to get closer with the girl. When I have read this part of chapter 4, we should accept the dance class in our curriculum.  

 Before I am reading this chapter, I thought the social dance is just for social relationships but this chapter refers to the social dance is not only for social intercourse but for combat and athletic. I was really surprised that combat dance and training dance could be included category of social dance. Later, however, I got a idea what social dance is. combat and training dace are being socialized their community which have their own cultural things. I have known that there are so many cultural aspect in the world. 

 Eastern and western are different from in terms of cultural traits. Nevertheless, social dance has existed everywhere and their purposes have the same meaning as between them. 

3rd Movie Reaction Paper.

Le Roi Danse/King of dance

The movie's period is time of King Louis 14th who have made golden age of dance and music through Renaissance's time. I have felt many things after watching movie about needless to say dance and music, I could observe the people who love dance and music. 

The King Louis loves dance and music. however, when he is getting old, he has know that he cannot dance like when he is younger anymore so that he want to watch the dance and music like opera simultaneously. Consequentially, The performance had prospered among the King Louis and audiences. 

I think that all the people love dance and music in this time.Lully who is musician below King Louis is very passionate of music and dance. However, king could not dance anymore, he tried to help him to dance again. king Louis did not want to dance, so he changed his mind to watch performance of dance and music. Lully wanted to get concern of King to dance or to be french things, king Louis did not like that anymore because of opera from Italy. 

At this time, not like now, they could do dancing and music for fun or lifestyle. The dance and music are important components to our life as well. They had made the cultural properties of dance and music, it is really amazing results. 

Chapter 3.

 When I am reading this chapter, I am feeling that the dance has really bigger realm than what I have thought. Each dance has reason of existence even they are not important for us.  

 The dance has had so many meaning so far. I am not sure about what Korean dances mean, but when I read examples of other countries' dances, I could know the meaning of Korean dances a little bit. 

 The many form of dances are created by what people want or what they need which are political, military, spiritual, and cultural things. Even I have seen so many dances from Korea, I did not think their meaning. But nowadays I am being interested with what the DANCE is. 

I feel that I should find the basic information of the dance before when I watch any dances. I cannot dance even from Korean. However, I am being known the dance by the study. It is so cool.

Chapter 2.

 I think that this chapter are talking not only lord of the dance but also the purpose of the dance. Most of the dances have the purpose for preying god.

 In my opinion, the dance has some form which is 'possession'. when we talk about the dance, we have to mention spiritual things. This is one of form of dance, of course, but it is really important aspect of ancient dance. they want to dance for being possessed the god. 

Other opinion is that they try to represent their the gods by the dance. So they believed that the gods will take care of them. Their believe can be presented by the dance. 

Finally, The dancers try to talk their history by the dance. They put the story into the dance, so audience would understand what they want to talk even they do not tell the story.
